In addition to our semester programs, ISDSI also has a number of opportunities for faculty, including faculty led programs, site visits, sabbatical, and research support.
Faculty Led Programs
Are you a college or university faculty member interested in bringing a group of students to Thailand? Email us at [email protected] and let us know!
We will work with you and your institutional study abroad office to design, develop, and run a short term program focused on your interests and needs.
Short term faculty programs can be focused on any topic related to faculty interests. We will work with you to develop programs and that are hands-on, engaging, academically challenging, and rewarding for both students and faculty leaders.
Some of the programs we have run include:
- Southeast Asian and Thai history
- Economics
- Women’s health
- Mental health
- Elephants and veterinary medicine
- Public health
- Human rights
- Ethnic minorities and indigenous cultures
- Sustainable agriculture and ecology
- Coffee and other cash crops
- Service learning
- Contemporary art and art history
- and more!
We have a deep connection to many diverse communities and NGOs in Thailand, so if you’ve got an idea, email us at [email protected] and let’s talk.
Experienced ISDSI field instructors help facilitate the courses, dealing with logistics, budget, planning, etc., allowing our faculty partners to focus on teaching and education.
Sabbatical and professional development support
We have worked with faculty and researchers to facilitate field research, sabbatical stays, and other opportunities in Thailand. If you’re considering spending time in Thailand, let us know and we can help you figure out the best options for you, either with ISDSI or another institution in Thailand.
Site Visits
We also host site visits, either on your own or during our annual site-visit for interested faculty and administrative staff. Let us know if you’d like to attend!
