Students and staff escaped the city landscape for three days of retreat. The first stop was Huay Tung Tao, a nearby reservoir, where students completed a swimming assessment. This was in preparation for upcoming expedition courses that will require students to feel comfortable and competent in open water.
After a sunny morning out on the water and a lunch of fish and “dancing shrimp,” students and staff made the trip out of Chiang Mai city to Mok Fa waterfall. Everyone stayed in cabins within the national park grounds. The weekend together included digging into topics of leadership, decision making, and expedition first aid as well as free time to hang out, explore the waterfall, play games around evening bonfires.
