Meeting the host families

On Saturday the students met their host families after a short orientation and language lesson with Pi Pu, Ajaan Wilasanee and Pi Ben.  (Our full orientation week starts on Monday.)

The students AND the host families were very excited — for families hosting for the first time and for those returning as well!

Here are a few photos to give you an idea of what it was like.

Emily's first Thai in context! A "wai" greeting (hands together) and "Sawatdii Ka. Dichan chuu..."

As each student said their name, their host family came up to greet them.

Some families wai and then shake hands. Thai people don't greet by shaking hands, but they know that American's do.
