Dancing. Singing. Traditional Northern Thai dress and food. All of it, a celebration and dinner to thank the Thai families who welcomed ISDSI student into their homes for five weeks.
The host family experience started in August when the first student was picked up by his host father. Hand in hand they walked to the car, both not fully knowing what to expect but excited for the cross-cultural experience to begin. The other 26 students were then each picked up one by one, and over the next five weeks they all had unique experiences with their individual families. Some students were brought around to all the tourist sites by their host families, others enjoyed time at home playing games with the families, and most all of them were brought around to different relatives’ homes.
It was only right that we celebrate all the new memories with a farewell dinner, and songs and dances performed by students, host-siblings and a combination of both…
