The students have arrived, safe & sound!

Today there was a lot of activity.  The students were picked up from the guest house in the morning and came to the institute with their bags, followed by a Northern Thai lunch of sticky rice, roasted chicken and som tam (spicy papaya salad).

The afternoon was spent getting to know each other, and in a short orientation to living with Thai host families.  Following that, the host families came to pick up the students — and we’ll see them again on Monday morning!

Next week will include more in-depth orientation, intensive Thai language classes (4 hours a day), and exploring Chiang Mai and learning about Northern Thai culture.
